I meant to log on and post this yesterday, but my pub day was far busier than I thought it was going to be. All of this to say…The Queen’s Rising debuted yesterday! I honestly cannot believe this day has finally arrived, and I was overwhelmed in the best way possible by so many good wishes and happiness and book birthday posts. I am SO THANKFUL for everyone who reached out to me; it truly meant the world to me!
And can we talk about my preorder campaign for a minute? I was honestly expecting around 30 people to enter. And I was completely blown away and thrilled by how many of you entered! I am so excited to send out all the goodies, and again, THANK YOU for preordering a debut author’s book! Because I had such amazing engagement from so many of you around the world, I already have some plans for a Book 2 preorder campaign (which… BOOK 2!!! I cannot wait to finally tell you more about this one!! Hopefully within the next few weeks or months! I can say that the cover is already in the works and I’m about to go through my second round of edits, so hang tight. More news will be coming soon!). Now, back to what I was saying…I have randomly chosen the four winners and will be emailing them later today, so they can be on the lookout for packages to arrive. And then I’ll begin sending off my swag to everyone. I’ve got quite a few envelopes to address, but don’t worry–they are on the way. And I truly hope you enjoy it!
Okay, one last thing.
Of course, I had to go to Barnes and Noble and find my book on the shelf yesterday, because, you know, it still didn’t quite feel real. Not gonna lie…I was kind of shaking when I walked towards the YA bookshelves. And then I found it right away. A whole stack of TQRs on the bottom shelf, near Veronica Roth and Margaret Rogerson. And I about cried, to see myself shelved with them. And then I got to sign those books, and it was simply wonderful and fulfilling.
I sold this book to HarperCollins on October 1, 2015.
And now here she is, sitting on shelves, on February 6, 2018.
It’s been a long journey. And there have been highs but there have also been lows. Publishing is difficult. But when I hear from YOU–readers who love my book, readers who have been impacted by my words–it makes all of my tears and worries and sleepless nights worth it.
You are amazing, readers. And I truly hope you enjoy Brienna’s adventure.
